El pueblo de Bubión forma parte de la Alpujarra granadina y del Parque Natural de Sierra Nevada, un espacio caraterizado por la sorprendente mezcla de la nieve y del sol, resultando de su elevada altitud, por encima de los 3.000 metros y de su localización meridional. The Bubión town is a part of the granadian Alpujarra and the Sierra Nevada Natural Park, which is characterized by the surprising combination of sun and snow resulting from its altitude (over 3.000 metres) and its southern placing. This Natural Park, real alpine enclave at the South of Spain, gives refuge to a great variety of plants and animals, many of them endemic and adapted to those special conditions resulting from altitude.

En Dúrcal, por la autovía Granada-Motril, salida 157, a poco más de 10 minutos de Granada y la Alhambra y muy cerca de las Alpujarras, Sierra Nevada y Costa Tropical, se encuentra el Hotel Rural Mariami, enclavado en el hermoso y tranquilo valle de Lecrín. El Hotel Refugio de Nevada, de pequeño tamaño, es idoneo para tomar como base en su visita a la Alpujarra. The Refugio de Nevada Hotel, a small establishment, is ideally situated as a base for visiting the Alpujarra. El Hotel Taray Alpujarra, recientemente inaugurado en a cara sur de Sierra Nevada, en la Alpujarra, enmarcado por una finca de 15.000 metros formando parte de una dilatada planicie de vergeles y olivares entre los rios Chico, Seco y Guadalfeo a 1 km. de Orgiva, y basta alzar la frente para recoger el maná fabuloso del territorio más extraño y poderoso de España. El hotel dispone de 21 habitaciones dobles para 2 o 4 personas, todas con cuarto de baño completo, calefacción central, TV color, doble acristalamiento, frigorífico, teléfono directo y vistas al campo. Desde el hotel podrá realizar excursiones a pie por el valle, paseos a caballo, bici de montaña y vehículos todo terreno, todo ello con guías. A 2 Km se encuentra el río truchero de Trevélez con limpias y cristalinas aguas. Además existen manantiales de aguas ferruginosas, agrias y gaseosas.
